Raindrop Detection Sensor Module – ADIY
Raindrop Detection Sensor Module – ADIY
The ADIY Rain Drop Sensor Module is a simple and reliable sensor designed to detect rain or water droplets. It works by measuring the conductivity between exposed conductive tracks on the rain sensing plate. When water droplets fall on the surface, the resistance changes, allowing the module to detect the presence and intensity of rain. The module is widely used in weather monitoring projects, automatic rain detection systems, and DIY electronics applications. It is compatible with popular microcontrollers such as Arduino, ESP8266, ESP32, and Raspberry Pi (with ADC support).
Technical Specifications:
- Operating Voltage: 3.3 V – 5 V DC
- Output Type: Analog output (AO) and Digital output (DO)
- Comparator IC: LM393
- Sensitivity Adjustment: On-board potentiometer
- Interface Pins: VCC, GND, AO, DO
- Detection Method: Change in resistance due to water droplets
- Sensor Plate Material: PCB with exposed conductive traces
- Mounting: Screw holes on rain sensing plate
- Compatible Controllers: Arduino, ESP32, ESP8266, Raspberry Pi (with ADC), STM32
Features:
- Detects rain and water droplets accurately
- Provides both analog and digital outputs
- Adjustable sensitivity via on-board potentiometer
- Simple interface for easy integration
- Low power consumption
- Separate rain sensing plate for better exposure
- Suitable for DIY, educational, and prototyping projects
Applications:
- Automatic rain detection systems
- Weather monitoring stations
- Smart irrigation and water-saving systems
- Automatic window or roof closing systems
- Rain-alert alarms
- IoT-based environmental monitoring projects
- Educational electronics and Arduino learning kits
