Track belt is a loop of flexible material, which can be used either as a conveyer belt or a mechanism to move your robot. Belts are looped over pulleys, these pulleys have a groove running all through so that the belts fit perfectly inside.

You can join two belts to increase their length. They can either be joined with a strong adhesive or the ends can be sewed together to make an even stronger joint.
